Mountain meadows. Hiking in the high alpine meadows in the Royal Group of mountains was one of our families favorite long weekend highlights. My pioneer family cut the trails many years ago and named the Lakes that are now mentioned in the hiking books of the Canadian Rockies. I loved the August hikes because the wild flowers were everywhere, the snow on the avalanche slopes was fun for boot skiing, the bears left their sign but didn't appear.

Winter Wonderland at Windsong
I have painted this scene from my window in the spring, summer, fall and winter. I have painted it in green, red, yellow and white. I have painted the alpenglow on the mountains in purple, pink, and orange. Before our home was built I visulized myself painting from the deck. My visulization came true with planning, hard work and persistence. I am now visulizing myself painting in Tuscany, sipping Italian Vino, being extra careful not to dip my new Kolinsky brush in my wine. I am also visulizing myself walking again, walking up steps and on cobblestones! Visulize! Ciao for now

Flowers from Peter
Peter brought me flowers from Invermere when he went shopping. The scent of these lilly's made me think of summer. I know thats a long way off but it did give me hope that I will be able walk well enough to go to Tuscany in May. Cobblestones and stairs everywhere.
Dance Little Hopi Boy!
My daughter Courtenay took a photograph of a Hopi boy when she was in Tucson Arizona.
I love the shy way he is moving and the little bow and the arrows on his back.
The Sad Sunflower
Why is the sunflower so sad? Its because the artist broke her leg in the California Desert shortly after Peter bought her flowers in Borrego Springs.
Looking on the bright side I now have lots of time to paint while sitting in a wheelchair back home. Who wants to golf, bike, hike in the California sunshine anyway!

Plein air of my home and flowers at Windsong on Columbia Retreat
This painting was done while I was recovering from surgery in June. We built the house last year and planted the flowers this spring. Now they are frozen and its time to head south.
Paris Market
I tried to paint Graham Flatts street scene after our very quick lesson. This is my version. It reminds me of the time my friend Lori and I were in Paris. We took the Metro to the art district and wandered around for the day. I was awed by all the fabulous artists. I LOVE PARIS.
Exotic tropical flowers
